I realize I haven't done a food post in a little while. It's still summer. We've been on again, off again cooking. We've been doing more meal prep beforehand. Also if you actually read my posts, you'd know we've been eating out. We actually budgeted for our monthly trip to the bookstore that also has a Starbucks as well for our monthly trip to Bunn Gormet. Our monthly breakfast at Country Kitchen was previously in our budget. We have a "going out" budget. I suppose we're just being more selective and specific now. It allows for more flexibility to do other interesting activities. I have three daughters, a granddaughter, and a son-in-law. We like to plan to do things together. This month as always our go to's "We don't really feel like doing much" were pizza, pretzels, and edamame. The first photo is pizza and ice cream. We also always have a carton of hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator. Pro tip: Our raw eggs are in a blue carton. Our hard boiled eggs are in a yellow carton. The second photo has hummus, pretzels, and a hard boiled egg. My daughter Alyssah is a fantastic cook. She made "sushi in a bowl" (Yes. That's a thing. - 3rd photo, 1st row) as well as garlic and soy artichokes and steak - 1st photo, 2nd row. In fact she doubled up and we had leftovers on other occasions as other meals. I have a photo of the steak and artichoke bentos she made. Also pictured are the mini lemon and berry tarts from Bunn Gormet. - center photo on the bottom. The center photo is vegetable hash (leftovers) and ice cream. Last photo in the center row is breakfast: two types of eggs, asparagus, and toast. On the bottom row there's cheese filled pretzel bites and edamame on the left and spinach and artichoke dip (leftovers) on the right with a chocolate mini bundt cake for dessert.
